PBS develops, validates, and implements all types of assessment tools including aptitude tests, licensing exams, work samples, interviews, and performance appraisal systems. We begin by identifying critical competencies and/or characteristics, and then build an assessment tool to measure them.  Where available, we select items from our item bank and where not, we develop new items/scales.  The assessment process is then pilot tested with incumbent employees to fine tune its structure and content, to verify/document its validity, and to set employment standards.

·                     Ability/Aptitude Tests—Through the use of job-related aptitude tests, our clients identify the applicants most likely to succeed—objectively, consistently, and cost-effectively.

·                    Certification and Licensing Programs—PBS licensing and certification exams measure proficiency or mastery of a skill, aptitude, or knowledge area.  We train subject matter experts in item writing and oversee their efforts.  We cast and equate test forms to maintain consistent licensing standards and test security.  The result is a practical, meaningful licensing exam with proven utility, validity, and defensibility. 

·                    Work Orientation/Attitude Assessments—Our staff are experts in developing and implementing various kinds of attitude assessments, including measures of conscientiousness, integrity, customer service, people orientation, and managerial readiness. The resulting assessment identifies the best candidates for those work environments in which personal work style and habits are at least as important as technical skills.
